I think it's difficult to write songs about something other than romantic love, and still be able to communicate the intensity with which those feelings can hit a person. Some of the entries on this album are fantastic examples of this niche.

Liv.e is boldly putting herself out there by taking on almost every artistic endeavor on 'Girl In The Half Pearl'. From posing nude on the cover, to directing and starring in the music videos for "Ghost" and "Wild Animals", to producing the vast majority of the project (shouts out to Mndsgn). I was privileged to hear "Find Out" during an intimate performance at Laylow in London last year (Liv.e even played it twice)! Influences abound, her body of work continues to grow with me upon each listen.

This could’ve been my album of the year if I’d noticed it. Hell. 2020, feeling like shit and then this musical balm appears. Live recording on one mic. Just bass and harp. Awesome. It swings like a pendulum do! Big shout out for Dezron’s love of coffee. I now have 2 of his albums and he’s proselytising on behalf of coffee on both. Damn right ☕️
