Trying to keep it all in
But it’s coming all out
I don’t want you to know
What this is all about
I think you’re a time traveler
Coming back from the past
Are you trying to unravel
What will forever last
Feeling like it’s settled
And there’s nothing I can change
I’m swallowing my anger
I’m burying my rage
Oh mother, o sister, my scream is like a whisper
There is no use in burning fire when my heart is like a blister
I thought that I was dying
But I guess I was just grieving
For all of your lying
I can only be forgiving
And we will laugh, and we will cry
And we will live until we die
There are no saints, there are no gods
Just you and me against all odds
Oh mother, o sister, my scream is like a whisper
There is no use in burning fire when my heart is like a blister

I think it's difficult to write songs about something other than romantic love, and still be able to communicate the intensity with which those feelings can hit a person. Some of the entries on this album are fantastic examples of this niche. dani_bloop
Moodymann creates innovative soul funky music with deep 70s inspiration. The vocals are simply outstanding. A step back in time, 50 years ago! Superb. jef37
Liv.e is boldly putting herself out there by taking on almost every artistic endeavor on 'Girl In The Half Pearl'. From posing nude on the cover, to directing and starring in the music videos for "Ghost" and "Wild Animals", to producing the vast majority of the project (shouts out to Mndsgn). I was privileged to hear "Find Out" during an intimate performance at Laylow in London last year (Liv.e even played it twice)! Influences abound, her body of work continues to grow with me upon each listen. JALENKWRIGHT

This could’ve been my album of the year if I’d noticed it. Hell.
2020, feeling like shit and then this musical balm appears. Live recording on one mic. Just bass and harp. Awesome. It swings like a pendulum do!
Big shout out for Dezron’s love of coffee. I now have 2 of his albums and he’s proselytising on behalf of coffee on both. Damn right ☕️ Crinklechips
